I was inspired by this beautiful movie, 'Black Swan' that I'd seen some days ago.
It was while doing these sketches that I understood why perfection meant so much to her and how eventually, there never really is a thing like perfect.
This seems to be the kind of intractable catch-22 handed to all of us direct from the devil. The passion to pursue perfection -- the entirely unattainable quest.
I agree. Having battled with being a perfectionist that has caused me many a sleepless night, I I understand the implications of that dreaded and deceptive word. In fact, I did write on it as well in my younger days... [link]
i find that you said it very well in your younger days and that you have only cast off the sleepless nights if in the interim you might have amended your ways. There is no evil in the quest or attainment of perfection, merely in having the trials and tribulations of the quest turn dark and perverse and allow them to influence you adversely when the goal might appear unattainable. i simply seek solace on this subject in reminding myself often that those people who think they are perfect seriously irritate those of us who are!
